Review: Windproof Running Jacket (TimeToRun.co.uk)
One good thing that did come out of today is I got to try out my new running jacket. I bought it a couple of days ago from a UK-based online company called Time To Run. The company prides itself on selling very cheap but still high-quality running gear that they claim delivers the same performance and standards as their much higher-priced competitors (i.e., Nike, The North Face, etc).

I bought the windproof running jacket which at £24.99 is very inexpensive (certainly for the UK). When I first tried it on it seemed a little on the small side, but after a while I realised that was intentional. It’s not tight - just fits very snugly, but when you’re trying to keep out the wind and the rain that’s pretty much essential.
It has lots of nice features - two front pockets that include ‘hand warmers’ for those chilly moments after runs, a back zipped pocket for gels and things like that, reflective piping and gripper elastic that ensures that jacket doesn’t ride up while you run. The jacket is water resistant and made of breathable fabric. I think it looks pretty good as well.
I have to say it worked really, really well, keeping me warm and also the rain and the wind at bay. Having never ran in a ‘proper’ running jacket before I wasn’t sure what to expect, but at the price seems incredible value for money. Assuming it holds up, I may pick up a few other items from them as well.
I also renewed my supply of Bodyglide from Time To Run, too, which of course is always worth its weight. ![]()

Thanks Shéamus, wanted to pick up something like this for a long time. This site looks good as well. Can you explain the hand warmers in the pockets?

What I mean is the pockets are insulated with some nice soft and warm material, as opposed to the glossy, showerproof fabric of the rest of the jacket.
Welcome, btw! ![]()

Sounds like a good deal. The PT jackets that we have in the Army are cut too loose for my tastes for running, but have a lot of great features that I use it for more than just Army PT. Our jackets are just a bit more expensive, and have venting zippers under the sleeves. Unfortunately, dropping down in size to make it tighter also means that the waist will be higher as they don’t have long sizes. I can’t win!
