Day 113Not a good run today - not good at all. I felt like I had zero energy reserves pretty much as soon as I got out the door, and this was confirmed with one of my slowest runs for as long as I can remember. I just felt really ‘meh’ the entire way around, and also have to stop twice just to get myself back together. Not pretty.

Am I overtrained? Has the collective effort of this past 113 days, combined with the pressures of the 100 Miles In Two Weeks mini-challenge, pushed me over the edge?

Wikipedia defines overtraining as occurring “… when the volume and intensity of an individual’s exercise exceeds their recovery capacity.”

It’s hard to say, especially as I always feel a bit worse-for-wear the first day I resume my night shifts (which I did yesterday). Hopefully things will be back to normal tomorrow. Not finishing the mini-challenge is not an option, but the 37.73 miles remaining this week seem like a mountain.

Everyone has off days so I wouldn’t worry too much. You have done amazing to run this many days in a row, you are bound to have an off day at some point.
Keep up the good work!

P.S. Loving the new blog theme :)
